Description of Hotel

Hotel Costa Verde is situated next to the Manuel Antonio National Park in Costa Rica, a lush rainforest full of unique wildlife and countless shades of green. The resort is situated on a beach with cliffs, offering intense views of both the Pacific Ocean and the rainforest canopy. People come here for honeymoons, vacations, adventures, and more. For whatever reason they’re coming, travelers won’t be disappointed by such a beautiful place with so much to offer.

Location

Located in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, the resort is on the Pacific Coast. It’s in close proximity to a lot of well-known beaches, and the seemingly endless expanse of the Manuel Antonio National park surrounds it. The main resort can be found just off of Manuel Antonio Road (Highway 618), less than a third of a mile from Playa Espadilla beach.

Hotel Amenities

  • Over three swimming pools (one adult pool with a bar and two family pools)
  • Powerful air conditioning
  • Over four restaurants, with some built inside airplanes
  • Free Wi-Fi internet
  • Shuttles to restaurants

Hotel Rooms

The hotel has seventy rooms available, and some of them are a little less orthodox than the others. The adventurous traveler might be thrilled by the room that’s built into the fuselage of a 727 airplane. Guests can choose from a wide variety of offerings that are designed with fantastic views in mind. The cliffside resort offers the following accommodations:

  • Standard Rooms: These offer standard hotel amenities; they’re equipped with air conditioning, kitchenettes, TV, and more. The Building B Studio and Studio Plus rooms offer 520 square feet of space. They can accomodate four people and offer two beds and private balconies. The Efficiency suite is a garden-themed room that can also host four people, but offers a little less space.
  • Costa Verde II Rooms: Costa Verde II offerings include the Studio, Studio Plus, and Penthouse rooms. The first two offer a spacious 750 square feet, while the Penthouse has 900 square feet of space. Equipped with fantastic views, these rooms are great for quickly accessing the adults-only pool and bar as well.
  • Houses and Bungalows: If privacy is desired, these tucked-away houses and bungalows are optimal. Multiple beds are included, and residents can access full kitchens and dining rooms in many of them. These offer the lovely experience of living in a house in Costa Rica. Most of them have air conditioning, but be sure to check before renting.
  • 727 Fuselage Home: Decked out with ornate Indonesian hardwood floors and ceilings, this unorthodox suite is for those who want to go outside the norm. The resort picked up this old plane from the nearby San Jose airport and renovated it into what is now a work of art. This “jet house” has all the amenities of a home, and there’s even an added terrace to watch the monkeys on.
  • Cockpit Cottage: Another airplane-themed residence, the Cockpit Cottage also sports hardwood floors and plenty of windows. This crisp-looking suite will have you entranced by its many views of the lush rainforest outside, and the Pacific Ocean can be viewed from its patio.

Dining

There are four major restaurants around the resort. These places offer cuisine ranging from Costa Rican seafood to barbeque. The food offered up by these joints will make guests never want to leave. These restaurants include:

  • La Cantina BBQ: As implied by the name, this place whips up barbeque outside on a wood-burning grill. Those in the mood for reggae music are in luck, as a band called the “Jungle Boys” plays every night.
  • El Avion: It wouldn’t be a trip to Costa Rica without some seafood, and El Avion delivers in this department – or, rather, they deliver in their cargo plane. The restaurant is built in a Fairchild C-123 from decades ago. Fried calamari, fin tuna steaks, and other locally sourced entrees won’t fail to delight here.
  • El Wagon: A purveyor of wood-fired pizza, hot dogs, and cold beer, this restaurant has a beautiful patio with unique and vibrant art painted on it. Guests will thoroughly appreciate the tangy Costa Rican take on American and Italian cuisine offered here.
  • Anaconda: Operated by the hotel itself, the Anaconda Restaurant offers guests “Gallo Pinto” for breakfast, which is a Costa Rican-style traditional breakfast. They specialize in simple dishes here for breakfast and lunch, giving travelers food that’ll put a pep in their step prior to going out for some adventuring.
