The Artisans Cooperative, or CASEM, was founded in 1982 by a collective of eight female artists with the intention of giving greater projection and opportunities not only to themselves but also to other women in the area. Her gallery is located in her house about a quarter mile from the Cheese Factory, nestled inside the Monteverde forest. Sarah’s paintings are all watercolors inspired by her life in the cloud forest, most of them depicting the local wildlife. Most of her paintings are for sale, so this is a good spot to check out if you’re looking for some artwork to bring back with you.

All of the wood is recovered from fallen branches and stumps that are collected from the local forests. His wife Danis, makes beautiful handcrafted jewelry and paintings.
