Our story

Costa Rica is one of the most gorgeous destinations in the world to visit. This country is the true representation of the word diversity. From its beautiful beaches, imposing volcanoes, majestic rainforests and mountains, you will have endless possibilities to make your vacation the perfect one. But navigating through the myriad of options the country offers and deciding what destinations to visit, what activities to do, how to get from one place to another, what are the best hotels can be a daunting experience.

Locos4Travel was born in 2014 founded by Luis Anglada, Daniel Moreno and Pablo Castro, old friends from college, to solve this problem in a unique manner. After a successful international career spanning more than 20 years each in travel, technology, and eCommerce Pablo and Luis were exploring opportunities to apply their experience to show world the beauty of their country of birth. Daniel, inspired by Michael Palin´s “Around the World in 80 days” series, was planning to produce series of travel videos about Costa Rica with comedy as a differentiating factor. They decided to join forces and started Locos4Travel with the objective of creating tailor-made travel experiences with all of the fun and none of the stress.

To solve the complexity of planning and experiencing the perfect vacations to Costa Rica Luis, Daniel, and Pablo designed a solution that combines vacation planning tools with the assistance of travel experts who personalize and custom-make every vacation. To make the experience more fun and entertaining they introduced “Loco Daniel”, a smiling ambassador with insider advice on everything from packing light to enjoying a volcano. Loco Daniel and his friends share their knowledge and tips via the company´s blog and videos.

Meet the Founders

Luis D. Anglada

Luis was born and raised in San Jose, Costa Rica. He is extremely passionate about travel, technology, and eCommerce. As a matter of fact, one of the goals of “Locos4Travel,” is to show the world the beauty of his country of birth and help travelers with their vacation plans. With more than 20 years of experience in various international eCommerce- and tourism-related corporations, Luis has proven himself to be a pioneering force within the industry. He has held leadership positions in companies such as Expedia, NH Hotels, Best Day Travel, and Apple Leisure Group, and has managed operations throughout Europe, the Western U.S., Mexico, Central, and South America.

Luis holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Costa Rica and a Master’s degree in Hospitality Management from Cornell University.

Daniel Moreno

Daniel has a long track record as a successful entrepreneur. He is best known as a founder and member of the popular Costa Rican comedy group “La Media Docena” where he performs as a writer, actor, and live musician. Daniel runs a video production company named “Infinito Films” and is also the co-owner of a local restaurant “Sabor a Tango”. He is also an accomplished motion picture producer and director. His movie “Maikol Yordan, de Viaje Perdido,” became the most successful Costa Rican film ever produced. With Locos4Travel, Daniel is set to use his creativity and expertise in front and behind the camera to show the world all that his country has to offer and hopefully inspire a laugh or two.

Daniel holds a bachelor´s degree in Economics from the University of Costa Rica and a bachelor´s degree in Civil Engineering from Universidad Latina.

Pablo Castro

Also a proud Costa Rican, Pablo is an enthusiastic traveler, news junkie, cinephile, and the proud father of a 7-year-old girl. Pablo has more than 20 years’ experience in the Latin American travel industry, successfully leading international teams in companies such as Expedia and Price Travel. His areas of expertise are diverse and include sales, supplier relations, revenue management, marketing, public relations, and operations.

Pablo holds an bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Costa Rica and a Master of Science degree in Trade, Transport & Finance from the Cass Business School in the University of London, where he was the recipient of the British Chevening Scholarship.
