Arenal 1968 Trail

Located just a stone’s throw from the Arenal Volcano National Park entrance is the Arenal 1968 Trail, a private network of trails on and around the route of the lava flow that occurred in, you guessed it, 1968. There are two hiking – or biking, if you prefer – trails, one longer than the other, but both will immerse you in Arenal’s tropical ecosystem. If the weather is good, be sure hike up to the lookout point (“mirador”, in Spanish) for incredible volcano views.
